Rebellion Ales at The Downley Donkey
As well as the usual range of wines, beers and spirits you would expect to find in a well-stocked pub, the Downley Donkey are proud to be the only stockist in Downley of Rebellion Ales - brewed locally in Marlow.
The launch of the brewery in 1993 revived Marlow's illustrious brewing tradition, dormant since the closure of Wethereds in 1987.
After moving in 1999, and the acquisition of new brewing equipment from Courage at Reading, the capacity has now increased to around 36,000 pints a week. In 2006 the brewery purchased two more fermentation tanks, which are allowing them more flexibilty for running at full capacity.
The Brewery's location just outside of the historic town of Marlow, which is on the banks of the Thames inside the Chalky Chiltern Hills, ensures that the local water used for brewing is high in the minerals and salts essential for quality real ale.
